Nelon Touch
Our
relationship hit the iceberg due to a misunderstood text and was showing no
signs of recovery after endless apologies for over two weeks.
The
promises we made to each other, the paradise we were looking up to was all but
vanished just because of a small misunderstood text that I regretted writing.
Fears
of losing her were beginning to chew up my mind because our love was too good
to just let go. Despite all the apologies, she showed no interest of ever
pardoning me. Suggestions of meeting her to talk issues over were all trashed.
At
this point my mind was starting to drop, giving up by the day. However, my heart
was steadfast never allowing my mind to let go. After three days of silence, I
decided to try her again because I was leaving town the next day. She asked, “Can I
see you this evening?”
I
cancelled my next two evening meetings; turned and headed to a place we had the
most memorable kiss.
The
look on her pretty face when we finally met said it all that she belonged to me. I had to do
whatever it took to make her understand that I still treasured her.
I
explained to her about the text and what it exactly meant as her eyes started
tearing, I apologized to her several times before she could say anything.
After
realizing how genuine my voice was and how affectionate I was to her, she fell
in my chest and held me tight.
I
could feel her deep breath and sobs as we went still for some minutes. She then
gave me her adorable face; I placed my hands on her cheeks, adored her and
kissed her heavenly lips without wanting to stop celebrating having her back.
From
there we strolled about 3km in the midst of night under the romance of bright
moonlight holding hands like it’s all that mattered.
I
asked her to spend the night with me since it was the only time we were left
together till after many weeks. Fortunately, she said yes. A special night of
just hearing our breath, heartbeats and offering each other the loveliest looks
on our faces ensued to set up one of the best nights of my life.
When
it was time to begin my journey in the morning, she pushed me to the wall kissing me passionately for several minutes breathing like on life support.
And then it was that time to say the saddest word but better still we had good extra minutes to reach
the terminal that felt like a whole life. She carried my back pack till the terminal where she gave me a
look I am still looking at days after; the loveliest look I have been offered
yet.
As
I set off to leave, she kept smiling and glowing till I could barely see her.
I
must confess I left my heart behind with her.
